Virtual Poker: What Kind of a Player Are You?

If we were to classify the players engaged in a virtual poker game (even though the chances of meeting them personally would be nil), there are four categories that may come up - regarding how they play and manage the gaming strategies online.

We recommend that you read the different personality categories that we've come up with, and see where you may belong.

Although this is just for fun's sake, the relativity of this issue may help you determine if you would need a change of poker moves and playing techniques to jump from one of the lower categories to the next - until you make things perfect, and get the best of your gaming experience in the virtual poker arena.

• The Hoarder The let-me-have-it-all type of attitude best describes the hoarder's technique in trying to win at every gaming session.

People who fall in this bracket don't care if they lose as fast as they win in the games. It's only when they turn off their computers will they have a losing streak of madness and grief that they tend to direct at other things, people, or situations just to get their minds off their losses.

• The Maniac Having watched too many casino shows, maniacs try to show their seemingly questionable and "adapted" prowess every chance they get. They bluff or raise the stakes and play like crazy - without thinking of the consequences that may follow their moves.

• The Inert Passive and meek - these are the rightful descriptions to those who see themselves in this category.

In the true terminology, these people (like the others in different categories) may be referred to as "rabbits" - the weaker children of this mother game. They rarely fold or increase their bets. They rarely do anything at all in order for the other players not to take advantage of their weaknesses.

• The Don People who are included in this category practice smart, calculated moves with a disciplined and professional attitude to guide them through the different motions of the game.

They have perfected their styles and techniques, and are able to keep a sunny disposition all throughout the session if the odds are against them.

Determining where you may be included in the above "coined" categories would definitely be an eye-opener. You may choose to retain or change your gaming styles as according to your preferences. Just be sure that you can turn things around - regardless of where you may belong - with the decision you make.
